La Manga del Mar Menor is one of the most distinctive locations on the Spanish coastline. It is not a traditional town but a long, narrow strip of land separating the Mar Menor lagoon from the open Mediterranean Sea. In practice, this means that living in one place allows you to choose every day between two completely different types of beaches — a calm lagoon and the open sea — both reachable within a few minutes on foot.

On the Mar Menor side, the water is shallow, warm and almost wave-free. This makes swimming comfortable for most of the year and especially appreciated by those looking for a relaxed lifestyle, regular walks and water activities. It is also one of the best areas in Spain for sports such as paddle boarding, kayaking and sailing due to its stable and safe conditions. On the opposite side of the peninsula, you will find wide sandy Mediterranean beaches with open views and long promenades ideal for walking even outside the summer season.

La Manga is located on the Costa Cálida in the Region of Murcia, approximately 40 minutes from Murcia-Corvera Airport and just over one hour from Alicante Airport. Access is simple, with a main road running along the peninsula where restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, pharmacies and services are distributed. The area also features the Tomas Maestre marina, and daily life naturally revolves around the sea, outdoor activities and recreation. It is quieter than large tourist resorts while still offering the essential infrastructure needed for longer stays.

The type of properties here differs from many Costa Blanca locations. Apartments with large terraces and sea views dominate the area, often situated on the first or second line from the beach. The distance to the sea is usually very short — in many cases only a 1–3 minute walk.
