La Zenia is such a sought after location, ideally placed for easy access to fine restaurants, bars with live entertainment, excellent golf courses for the avid golfer and golden beaches for the sun worshipper or swimmer.
For day trips out head north to the inland town of Elche famous for its palms or go south to the Mar Menor where the La Manga Club is located. The historic city of Murcia is not far and here there are a couple of good shopping malls. If you want history, nearby Rojales and Orihuela have old towns and cave houses.
Torrevieja is still very Spanish and has wonderful beaches and promenade just some of the interesting places to explore. Just 15 to 20 minutes to Murcia airport it is so easy for holiday makers to travel to. Or if you are living here full time not long to get to the airport to visit relatives in the UK or other European countries.

Orihuela Costa is a coastal area administratively belonging to the city of Orihuela, located south of Torrevieja, about 50 minutes from Alicante Airport. It is not a single town, but a strip of seaside neighbourhoods and residential urbanisations stretching along the Mediterranean coastline. The most important areas include Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Campoamor and Villamartín.
The region is one of the most popular property purchase locations on Costa Blanca South. It combines direct access to the sea with very well-developed infrastructure and a large international community, allowing it to function throughout the year, not only during the holiday season.
