Los Alcázares is a coastal town located on the Costa Cálida in the Region of Murcia, directly on the Mar Menor lagoon. Unlike many holiday resorts, it is not a typical tourist urbanisation but a year-round residential town where daily life is based mainly on local residents rather than seasonal tourism.
The town’s main feature is its location on the Mar Menor — a shallow and very warm lagoon separated from the Mediterranean Sea by the La Manga peninsula.
